In general, the improvement you see in your skin from CO2 laser resurfacing can last for years after treatment. Avoiding sun exposure, using sunscreen, and maintaining a good skincare routine will help extend this time.
In general, a treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes. The time will vary depending on the area(s) being treated.
There is some mild discomfort associated with laser treatment—a sensation of slight stinging. However, as with all of our procedures, we will ensure you are comfortable throughout your treatment.
You may experience some redness and swelling in the days immediately following treatment. Full recovery can take up to two weeks; during this time, you should take extra care to keep your skin moisturized, follow your aftercare instructions, and avoid sun exposure.
Certain medical conditions—such as difficulty healing, a history of scarring, or bleeding disorders—may make it inadvisable to get a laser resurfacing. The procedure is also not recommended for those currently taking Accutane.
